Starbucks Triple Mocha Frappuccino

Last month we saw this frapp featured at Starbucks. Since we’re fans of the original Mocha Frappuccino, we thought we’d give this a try and indulge in the triple goodness!! It didn’t disappoint, and we enjoyed it. But I will admit, I was expecting a bit more mocha. Now, if you’re already a fan of the Mocha Frappuccino, you’ll enjoy this one too, and I recommend you give it a try.

Coconut Macaroon Nests

Was perusing Pinterest before Easter, and of course it was full of Easter treats recipes. One that stood out to me though, were these coconut macaroon nests. For the one and only reason…simplicity!! With only a few ingredients, it was pretty easy for me to decide to try this recipe out. It was the perfect choice to make while our son was having Daddy time playing. I was able to whip them up quickly and the nests were done before his bed time. Instead of melting white chocolate (we’re not much fans of it any way), I hacked it with cookie icing, to stick the eggs to the nests. Not as pretty, but I think I actually, almost nailed it visually LOL For me the recipe made 24, since it seems I put a bit more of the mixture in each mini cupcake holder πŸ˜‰ They were yummy, though on the much sweeter side. I may cut the sugar in half the next time I try, since the coconut flakes are already sweetened. All in all, it’s a super cute treat for Easter or for spring in general. Because who really needs a holiday as an excuse to eat – right?! The link for the recipe is below. Give it a try and let me know what you think of it!!

Mcdonald’s Mccafe Caramel Chocolate Coffee Iced FrappΓ©

When we saw a commercial for this frappe, it sounded super yummy, so we gave it a try a while back. If McDonald’s decides to keep it around permanently, it’ll be my new favourite!! Caramel and chocolate are another combo that just goes together perfectly. Now I won’t lie…it’s quite sweet!! So it’s definitely a treat. If caramel and chocolate are your favourite combo, try one before it disappears.

Super Bowl 2018

Another year and another Super Bowl behind us!! Was a good game, but I’ll be honest, it was more about the food then the game for me LOL

This year I decided to finally try this Crack Dip I kept seeing on Pinterest. After deciding on which one of the recipes to use, I made it and let it do its thing in the fridge overnight. When I put it out for us to try, I could see how it lives up to its name!! The creamy, ranchy, bacony, cheesy goodness was a tad on the salty side (which is fine!!), but served with an array of veggies made a better compliment then chips. And we couldn’t stop eating it LOL Will definitely make this again sometime!! It’s too yummy to make often though πŸ˜‰

I also chose to make meatballs, because I knew we’d have leftovers for another meal or two. I came across the recipe for these Thai Chili and Cranberry Meatballs on Pinterest as well. I usually make meatballs differently, but thought I’d change it up this time. I threw all the ingredients into the crock pot and cooked on low for 2 hours. It turned out great – we enjoyed the flavour of sweet and spicy very much. It’ll taste even better over rice later this week too!!

And with that, we enjoyed watching the game and eating some great food. Hope all of you who also watched, had a great time doing so!!

Crockpot Chocolate Clusters

Happy 2018 Everyone!! Hope you all enjoyed the holidays as much as we did πŸ™‚

Before the holidays, I was looking through Pinterest for a baking recipe, when I kept coming across these clusters. The face that they were made in the Crockpot was a huge plus, since I’m all about using mine!! The recipe I used was a 3-ingredient one consisting of almonds, chocolate chips and sea salt. The first time I made it was to try it out and made the original recipe. I did use dark chocolate instead of milk, as we like it better. We enjoyed that batch as well as gave some away. So when I decided to make it as part of our holiday gifts, I did add a 1/2 cup of dried cranberries to the recipe. We enjoyed this batch as well and thought the cranberries were a nice addition to it. I do think this year I’ll make them with almonds, another nut (either cashew or peanut), milk chocolate and cranberries – see how that turns out πŸ™‚

Peeps Delights Peppermint Bark Flavoured Marshmallow

So I’ve never been a huge fan of Peeps. Always found the flavours unappealing, for one reason or another. But I’ve kept on searching and trying to see if there ever would be a flavour I might like. Well, we were in the U.S. last month and I saw these in Target and thought we’d give it a try. We opened them up today and I can actually say that I LIKED these ones!! The chocolate dipped bottom added a nice touch to the peppermint flavoured marshmallow. Would buy this flavour again, if I come across them, or next time we’re in the U.S near the holidays.

Eva’s Original Chimneys

Above is my handsome hubby, showing off the Funfetti Party Cake cone, which he picked out for…what else?? His birthday treat!! πŸ™‚

We decided to finally give Eva’s Original Chimneys, at Square One Mall, a try for hubby’s birthday. We’d been avoiding this place for a while, until the loooong lineups faded away. And thought yesterday was a great reason, to give them a try. First off…this cone was definitely a two-person job!! WAY too much and too sweet for one person to eat. We thought that the embellished cones shouldn’t have sugar baked in them, because with all the sweet sauces on top, it’s just too much. Not to mention this cone had Nutella stuffed inside the cone, along with cake (just like the topper) AND a chocolate ball at the very bottom. Now I know it sounds like I’m complaining, which I guess I kind of am LOL But believe me when I say, we did enjoy the cone!! It would just have been that much better with the few things I mentioned. Next time, I think we’ll stick to plain ice cream in the sugared cone though LOL On that note, I do suggest you give one of these sweet cones a try…
