Wimpy’s Grilled Chicken Mediterranean Wrap

This wrap, actually comes with breaded chicken, but we opted for grilled – for a few less calories 😉 It’s a HUGE wrap, stuffed with the chicken, feta cheese, lettuce, tomato and their own herb dressing. It’s not bad. The feta is a bit salty for me, but it always is, so no fault of their own. Only ate half, so we got another lunch out of it – YAY!! Would definitely order it again.

Bon Appetit Everyone!! 🙂

Sour Cherry Pie!!

When my hubby and I had gone to Kensington Market, to eat at The Burger Bar, we stopped into Wanda’s Pie in the Sky. It’s a glorious little bake shop, with many different fruit, cream, custard and nut pies. There’s also other sweets to choose from, such as cookies and squares. On this day though, we chose to buy a small, 2 person sour cherry pie. We had bought the same pie, last year, when we first discovered them. It’s a wonderful combination of buttery crust, sour cherries and the right amount of sugar to balance it out…omnomnom 🙂

If you’re ever in the Kensington area, and are hankering for something sweet, stop into Wanda’s Pie in the Sky. I’m sure you’ll find something to satisfy your sweet tooth 😉

Chocolate Mint Cupcake

OH. MY. GOD. That’s all I have to say about this cupcake!! It’s ALL about the mint buttercream on top. It’s super minty, and that compliments the chocolate cupcake it sits on 😀 And the piece de resistance…is the Junior Mint nestled right there on top…omnomnom!!

Redpath Waterfront Festival – June 23, 2012

So, my hubby and I decided to head down to the festival, for a change of scenery and for some food!! It was a super sunny, gorgeous day out, and we had a great time strolling along the waterfront 🙂

There were beautiful ships out on the lake, which made for some great scenery and photography, while we walked and ate 🙂

We also came down for, the East Coast inspired food, and we weren’t disappointed. We first tried the ‘Fish Tip & Fries’, and the fish was super nummy!! The batter was so thin, and it didn’t overpower the fish at all. We actually just squeezed the lemon over the fish, and ate it like that, since it was so flavourful – it didn’t need the tartar sauce. The fries were the frozen kind, which I forgive, because the fish made up for it in spades 🙂

We then tried out the Lobster Roll, they were offering there too. I hadn’t had one, since I vacationed on the East Coast, in my teen years. It also didn’t disappoint. There was a touch of mayo, but it was ALL lobster, and it was sweet and moist – just like it should be 🙂

A little while later we were surprised by a free sampling of Smoke’s Poutinerie…HELLO!! It was buffet style, so you could make your own poutine concoction. So, I put their famous pulled pork and gravy over their fresh cut fries and cheese curds. Funny thing is, we found out about them a couple weeks ago, on a show called EAT ST. – on The Food Network. We were intrigued by them, and with good reason!! We’re now hooked and will be patroning their store front in the near future. The pulled pork was slightly sweet and perfectly cooked – which was a great compliment to their gravy. If you ever check them out, you won’t be disappointed!! 🙂

All in all, it was a great day and festival. We got to walk off, the scrumptious food we ate, by the waterfront. And enjoyed walking through all the vendors, that were there selling their beautiful wares. If you choose to go to the festival next year, I’m sure you’ll have a great time too!!

Bon Appetit Everyone 🙂
