Starbucks Cardamom Latte

Today was cool enough to have a hot latte, so I decided to try the Cardamom Latte from Starbucks. It tasted okay and not so sweet with only 1 shot instead of the standard 2 in a grande size. If you like chai tea, you’ll probably enjoy this latte. But if you’re into the sweeter options on the menu, this one may be too tame for you πŸ˜‰

Pumpkin and Butternut Squash…OH MY!!

It’s fall, and that means pumpkins and squash everywhere!! So, I decided to make one of my favourites…Crock Pot Pumpkin and Butternut Squash Soup. The recipe is REALLY simple, but I added vegetables and a cup of rice to beef it up, yet it still retains it’s awesome pumpkin flavour. Serve it with a dollop…or two of sour cream, sprinkle some nutmeg on top (optional) and a really nummy crusty bread…omnomnom!!

Skinny Pumpkin Spice Latte From Second Cup

Mmm…yummy pumpkin deliciousness πŸ™‚Β The barista made it perfectly, with just enough flavouring to not make it sickeningly sweet. I added some cinnamon to finish it off!! Ok…maybe a lot of cinnamon, but I love the stuff, so it didn’t matter to me πŸ˜‰

Pumpkin Spice Malt Balls

So, my hubby and I were at a Bulk Barn (bulk food store, here in Canada), and they had their plethora of Fall and Halloween candy out. As we were perusing the bins, we came across these pumpkin spice malt balls!! Now…we love malt balls, and usually get some during the holiday season, but pumpkin spice? We had never noticed these before. So, we bought a small amount to try out, and they’re nummy!! They’re a combination of the classic malt ball flavour with pumpkin pie – can’t go wrong with that. If you have a Bulk Barn near you, and you have a chance, I’d recommend you trying these out – they’re pretty omnomnom-worthy!!

Afternoon at the Brampton Fall Fair – September 15, 2012

So, today we spent the afternoon at the Brampton Fall Fair. It’s a small fair, but still a good way to spend the afternoon with your family. The weather was perfect as well…not too hot and not too cool either. Was very comfortable for walking around,Β photographing the groundsΒ and noshing a bit as well πŸ™‚

Ah…kettle corn. No fair is complete without it!! Alas, we skipped buying any, but I couldn’t help taking a photo of it – especially with the multicoloured varietyΒ πŸ™‚

This food stall look familiar?! Yep!! It’s the same Hank Daddy’s we tried out at the CNE πŸ™‚ This time though, we tried their smoked sausage, with sauteed onions and Carolina mustard sauce. Now, it doesn’t look like much, but the sausage was amazing. It had that, fantastic snap when you bite into it, and was super juicy on the inside. The Carolina mustard sauce was sweet, and if you ate it on its own, it would seem even more so. But, in combination with the onions and sausage, it paired up really well with the savory flavours of both. I would definitley recommend you give them a try, if you ever come across their truck/trailer. Right now they only do the Fair and Festival circuit, so if you’d like to find out where they’ll be next, just start following them on Twitter (@HankDaddysBBQ). They tweet which upcoming events they’re going to be at πŸ™‚

Hank Daddy’s BBQ

Other then that, I got me ANOTHER candy apple, as the last one was a dud 😦 First, whoever made the last one, didn’t wait long enough for the candy to harden, before putting the plastic wrap around it. So, when I went to take the wrapper off, basically all the candy went with it…BOO!! 😦 What was worse, was the apple itself, wasn’t the best either. So, hopefully this new candy apple will make up for it!!
