Merry Christmas Everyone!!🎄

Hope you all had a wonderful day spent with family and friends yesterday!! Our Christmas Day was spent with family opening presents, playing and watching classic Christmas specials and movies ☺️🎄🎅

We had spent Christmas Eve making a treat, we’ll be giving away to family and friends, we still have to see as part of their gifts. I chose to make these holiday pretzel m&m kiss treats this year, because they were super easy and our 3 year old son could help out for some of them ☺🥨🍫

The most tedious part was taking off the wrapping for the Hershey Kisses. This time I made them according to the recipe with milk chocolate kisses, but next time I’ll use the candy cane kisses for the festive peppermint flavour🎄We’ve all enjoyed the combination of salty pretzel with sweet chocolate and these are much easier then making dipped pretzels. I will definitely make these again! ✔️

Tim Hortons Smile Cookies Are Back!!

My hubby went to get us coffees yesterday, when the smile cookie caught his eye. So he bought a couple, for a sweet snack to go with our coffee, as well as to help support local charities. They’re available from Sept 11th – 17th, so grab one the next time you stop by a Tim Hortons, and help your local charities.

Egg Nog Cookies

We made these for Christmas a few year’s back, and loved them then, but hadn’t made them since. I’ve been trying out new recipes since then, but decided to make these again today. They’re super easy, and taste just like egg nog!! The holidays are nothing without egg nog right?! So why not in a cookie!! If you like egg nog, then definitely give this cookie a try, I’m sure you’ll like it as much as we do 🙂 I can’t find the exact recipe I have, but this one is the closest I found online…

Banana-Oatmeal-Chocolate Chip Cookies

Was perusing lower sodium recipes, and came across these, on a list from Health.com. They turned out all right, and are pretty tasty. Not the HUGEST fan of banana in my cookies, but the dark chocolate chips I used, more then make up for it!!

Got The Holiday Baking Bug!!

On Monday I had the urge, to finally make some Christmas Spritz cookies. I’ve never made them before, so I thought I’d do a test run. They turned out pretty good!! They’re buttery and melt in your mouth…very omnomnom-worthy 🙂 I will have to bake them a few minutes less next time though, as 7 minutes seems too long for these particular cookies. I’ll also have to double up the flavouring, as I didn’t taste it at all. Otherwise, this recipe is a keeper!!

Another test run I did on Tuesday, was for this recipe, for Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bars. I was really excited to try these, as the combination sounds super nummy!! Unfortunately, for me, it just didn’t cut it. It wasn’t as flavourful as I thought it would be. I may try these again, in an 8×8 pan, instead of the 9×13 I used. For now though it’s in the maybe pile, and I’m still on the hunt, for a dessert bar recipe to make for Christmas!!
