Indigo Kitchen Peppermint Chocolate Chip Brownie Mix

We had bought this a long time ago AFTER Christmas on sale from Chapter’s LOL I noticed the Best Before date was coming up, so we made them yesterday. Being that it’s a mix, it was super simple to make by adding the eggs, oil and some water. After baking for 30mins the peppermint crumbles was added to the top and cooled off. We got 16 squares out of the 8×8 pan used, and I was excited to try a piece before putting them away. But, unfortunately we weren’t very impressed. I mean, it tasted like a brownie, but I was hoping it would taste more pepperminty then it was. I think if we added peppermint oil to the batter, it would be MUCH better, but that’s just us!! Anyway we won’t buy these again, but at least we have some brownies for dessert LOL

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino

I usually get my Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks hot, but the other day I felt warm so wanted a cold version, as I’d never tried it anyway. First I asked the barista what the Frapp version tasted like, and she said it tastes a lot more like pumpkin pie – SOLD!! So, gave it a shot, and it definitely didn’t disappoint!! It was like having a piece of pumpkin pie out of the fridge with whipped cream…omnomnom. I won’t lie though it WAS sweet, so if I have it again, I’ll ask for half sweet. If you like pumpkin pie or anything pumpkin, that comes with this time of season, then I think you’ll enjoy the cold version of the beloved ‘PSL’.

Purdy’s Fall Chocolates…Mmm…Pumpkin!!

Last week, while passing by our local Purdy’s store, I saw that they had their fall chocolates out πŸ˜€ Who am I to pass up Pumpkin anything, so we grabbed a Pumpkin Truffle, Pumpkin Caramel and a Lemon Cream just to change things up a little πŸ˜‰ They were all yummy too!! The Pumpkin ones had a great pumpkin spice taste to them and the Lemon had tiny pieces of rind that made it tangy…omnomnom!! Get your own chocolates while they’re in season…especially if you’re a Pumpkin Spice flavour lover like myself!!

Starbucks Sparkling Black Tea & Tangerine

image

I know it’s been forever since I updated, and I apologize!! Been a busy last few months filled with happiness, excitement and the feeling of being scared all at once LOL Will let you in on the reason why eventually πŸ˜‰ Going to do my best to post more often though, and hope you’ll still come along for the ride πŸ™‚

Now, on to the post at hand!! I’ve tried this once before and enjoyed it, so thought I’d talk about it today πŸ™‚ The combo of black tea and tangerine juice is definitely yummy!! But next time I MUST remember to try peach juice instead. I’ve wanted to try mango juice, but it seems to be perpetually sold out…boo!! If you enjoy carbonated flavoured iced tea I would give this one a try…

Crock Pot Cabbage Roll Casserole

A couple week’s back, I was looking for a new Crock Pot recipe. I was actually in the mood for the flavours of cabbage rolls, but didn’t want to deal with having to make cabbage rolls…so much work!! Then I found this recipe from Save with Pennies. It was pretty simple to put together and it tasted exactly like cabbage rolls minus all the work!! I will DEFINITELY be making this recipe again πŸ™‚ There’s also a non-Crock Pot version for those of you who don’t have one or don’t want to use it. It’s not the prettiest dishes, but who cares when it tastes good – right?!

Beyti Kebab in Mississauga

So, we checked out this place for the first time a month or so ago, and the photos are from that particular visit πŸ™‚ It’s a very small place, run by a very friendly Turkish couple. Their menu isn’t large, but it doesn’t have to be either. We ordered the lamb pide, as well as chicken doner (shawarma) but I couldn’t get a good photo of it, so I didn’t want to add it LOL But believe me when I say, it was yummy!! As well as the lamb pide. If you like Turkish cuisine and appreciate friendly service, I would suggest you give Beyti Kebab a visit. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!! πŸ™‚

The Churro Ice Cream Sandwich…CHURRO!!

Being I’m from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), I had never heard of or seen this wondrous, and I’m veryΒ sure – scrumptious creation!! I found out it was created at a place called Churro Borough in LA. So, unless some place here in Toronto makes this soon, my hubby and I will have to find this place one day, when we make our way over to LA!! Until then, I’m going to just leave this here, for all of us to enjoy virtually…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

How cute are these Leprechaun Hat and 3-Leaf Clover cupcakes??Β Hope you all had/are still having a great St. Patty’s Day!! The hubby and I opted to stay home, as going out can get expensive, not to mention WAY too busy…amirite??Β We had made corned beef brisket over night yesterday, so we had that for dinner, along with some Irish-style beer…yum!!

I say Irish-style, because we tried out a micro brewed beer, from a brewery here in Ontario (Canada) called Beau’s. I’ve got to say, that I loved it. It may be because it was a red ale, and had some sweet notes to it. We’ll definitely try it again!!

Creamy Lime Squares

A friend of mine posted a list of St. Patrick’s Day recipes, and when I came across these squares I had to try them out. And let me tell you, they DO NOT disappoint, in the tart lime flavour department…omnomnom!! They were super easy to make, as it was just an adaptation, from a lemon square recipe. And it only took about an hour, from start to finish. I didn’t dust the top with icing sugar, but you can definitely go that route for guests, if you decide to try this recipe out πŸ™‚
