My hubby and I went for a drive up to Jackson’s Point (north of us), last long weekend, where we picnicked and took in the beautiful scenery 🙂 For dessert we wanted ice cream, so we stopped at the Maple Leaf Dairy Bar Ice Cream Parlour!! Open since 1965, they have a large selection of ice cream flavours, as well as frozen yogurt made with fresh fruit. They even sell handmade butter tarts in a number of flavours too…omnomnom. BUT, we were only there for the ice cream this time!!

I opted to have a scoop of Mighty Moose (vanilla ice cream, with a ribbon of caramel and mini peanut butter cups!!), and a scoop of Maple Walnut on a waffle cone. I usually don’t get a waffle cone, but they were out of the regular, so who am I to say no 🙂 It cost about $5 for the double scoop, which is expensive to me, but MY GOD was it ever nummy!! How can you go wrong with mini peanut butter cups though right? A single scoop is about $3.25 or $3.75 (can’t remember!), which is a decent price considering other ice cream places charge the same or more. PLUS, they give you 2 scoops of the same flavour for that price, which makes up for it!! So, if you’re ever up in the Jackson’s Point area, and you’re craving ice cream – make sure you stop at the bright pink Maple Leaf Dairy Bar Ice Cream Parlour (946 Lake Drive, Jackson’s Point ON L0E 1L0)
Bon Appetit Everyone 🙂
