Sassy Teas Shop in Port Credit, Mississauga – June 15, 2014

We saw this shop, while walking around the area last Sunday, and decided to go in – as it was new to us. It was a cute little tea shop and lounge, where you can enjoy a cup of tea or iced tea.

After perusing their teas, we decided to have, one of their daily special iced teas. We chose to try the Iced Green Tea with Tropical Pineapple and Fresh Strawberries. I asked for it to be unsweetened, and glad I did, because the fruit had sweetened it enough naturally. It was really good, and around $3, which is a wee bit expensive for it’s medium size. But, since it tasted so good on a warm sunny day, I let that pass!! If you’re ever in the Port Credit area, and want to check it out, it’s just passed the Starbucks on Lakeshore Road West.

Cheers Everyone!! 🙂

Pineapple Flavoured Canada Dry AND Crush :o

My hubby and I came across both of these today, when we made a stop at a nearby convenience store…and my jaw dropped when I saw them. It’s obviously been a WHILE, since we’ve needed to go to a convenience store, because these flavour for either brand is new to us LOL Alas we didn’t buy either though, because the sugar content was obscenely high, and still would’ve been even if we shared. If ONLY they made these in Diet…I would totally give them a try!! Have any of you had the chance to try either of these out?! Would love to know, if you have, and what they tasted like…

Cheers Everyone 🙂

Crock Pot Corned Beef Brisket with Carrots, Onions and Garlic Smashed Potatoes

The brisket turned out fork tender, and the onions and carrots were cooked just enough. Add garlic smashed potatoes, and it made for a wonderful dinner!! Plus washing it down, with some yummy green Mill St. Organic beer, rounded out the entire meal nicely 😉

Bon Appetit and Cheers Everyone 🙂

Starbucks Maple Macchiato

March is ALL about Maple flavoured everything, and of course, Starbucks is getting in on action too. Now, if you’re a macchiato fan already, I think you’ll like this drink. I do like macchiatos, but with this one, I didn’t really taste any maple flavour – except for a bit of the drizzle on top 😦 So for me, it was disappointing, especially since I’ve enjoyed other flavoured macchiatos from them before. Glad I had a 25% off coupon, and at least I can say, I gave it a try!!

Cheers Everyone 🙂

Natrel Maple Milk

Saw this a while back, and wanted to give it a try, when it went on sale. Then last week, it was on sale, so we bought one. In a nutshell, it tastes like maple flavoured milk LOL It’s not bad to drink on its own as a flavoured milk, but being that it’s high in sugar, I won’t be having it very often!! We also used it when making homemade pancakes last weekend, and though I didn’t notice the flavour in the pancakes, they didn’t taste bad either LOL If you love maple, as much as I do, I think you’ll like it too. But it’s definitely a treat!!

Cheers Everyone 🙂

Maple is in the Air Again!!

Time sure flies doesn’t it? I swear my hubby and I were just at last year’s Maple Festival. Can’t wait to go again this year too 🙂 Until then though…there’s maple lattes to keep us happy. And Second Cup’s version is a very nummy one at that!! It has just the right amount of maple to espresso ratio, so if you’re a maple lover, head over to your local Second Cup. It’s only here for a limited time…

Cheers Everyone 🙂

McDonald’s Toasted Marshmallow Mocha…Disappointing

As soon as we saw the sign for this new flavour, I wanted to give it a try. So, this past Monday, my hubby and I each got one. To my dismay though, it was like they had forgotten the toasted marshmallow flavour? All I tasted was the regular mocha, with a few whipped cream and a couple of mini marshmallows 😦 So, I won’t be trying this one again, even though the idea of it is yummy…

Cheers Everyone 🙂

Beer…Dip…Dessert…The Best Parts of Super Bowl 2014!!

As you all know by now, the Super Bowl, was a pretty one sided and boring game…at least to me and my hubby!! But thankfully, we had some good beer and food, to make up for it. We came across this English beer called Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer. The description of the flavour is what caught my eye, with notes of toffee and vanilla. It was darker then regular, but not as dark as others, so it’s a good in between flavour profile. We liked it, and will have this again sometime 🙂

I gave another Buffalo Chicken Dip a try this year, for the Super Bowl, and it turned out better then the last one. It may have been that I subbed flaked turkey, and ranch dressing, instead of blue cheese? Yes it was still pretty salty, but the flavour was just better. I halved the recipe, and it made enough for 2 medium ramekins, so we have another serving we can heat up and enjoy. Goes great with cut veggies, crackers or chips of your choice.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

I had 2 Mutsu/Crispin apples, that were very much past their prime, since we picked them back in October LOL So, I looked up some recipes of what to make with them, and when I came across this simple apple crisp recipe – I knew I wanted to make it. The 2 apples made exactly 1 serving for each of us, so we ended up having it as our dessert on Sunday night. It was very yummy!! Though a bit sweet, since this recipe is more geared towards, a more tart apple. Ours were quite sweet, so if I use granny smith’s next time, it’ll be perfect. Definitely serve this with a half scoop of ice cream…it’s the only way we eat it!!

Cheers!! And Bon Appetit Everyone 🙂
