Easy Crock Pot Baked Ziti

Found this recipe and gave it a go this week. Like the title says, it was easy πŸ™‚ Not too many ingredients, but I did add in garlic, onions (almost everything I make has garlic and onions!!) and mushrooms.

I will say that even though I cooked this dish for less time, it still ended up a bit dry. I personally prefer this dish baked in the oven. At least I gave it a try and it tasted good, I won’t make it again in the Crock Pot. Any of you make this in the Crock Pot and it not be dry?? If so, I would love to hear what you did differently!!

Starbucks Tuxedo Mocha

This past week I saw a sign at a local Starbucks, for the Tuxedo Beverage Collection. It includes a mocha, hot chocolate and Frapp. It was for a limited time too, ending January 1st 2017. We decided to try the mocha, made from a combination of regular and white chocolate mochas and espresso. Topped with steamed milk, whipped cream, chocolate drizzle and chocolate shavings. I wasn’t sure if I would like it, since I’m not a huge fan of white chocolate. But I was pleasantly surprised. Would try it again. If you’re a fan of chocolate, I think you’ll like this concoction!!

crockpot-roast

The holidays are always a crazy time, trying to find the perfect gifts, decorating and baking. This year was a blur for us as we had some flooding issues, and didn’t get back into our condo until a few days before Christmas. But, at least we were home for the holidays and that’s all that matters!! Speaking of which, I decided to make a roast for Christmas Day in our Crock Pot. It was great, as it cooked while we opened presents and spent the day watching Christmas shows with our son. I had to cook it on HIGH for 4 hours, since we got a late start on it, but it turned out great!! The photo above is showing you the remnants of leftovers, as I forgot to take a photo before we ate LOL Recipe was super simple…placed the 3lb roast in the middle and placed the carrots, celery, onions and potatoes around it. If you have your own spice blend, then add it with beef broth to the pot. I added a package of Club House’s wet pot roast spice blend, then set the Crock Pot and let it do it’s thing. Will definitely make pot roast this way again!!

Pumpkin Spice Pull-Apart Bread

Hope all of you that celebrated, had a wonderful Thanksgiving πŸ™‚

As for me, a friend of mine posted a link for this recipe on Facebook, and I finally got around to making it. I had sugar pumpkins that I roasted and used for this recipe, but you can easily use canned pumpkin too!! The recipe itself was super easy and pretty quick to make. The flavour was good too. The pumpkin spice flavour isn’t in your face either…it’s just enough πŸ™‚ Will definitely make this again sometime.

Hungry Buddha Smokin’ Sriracha Coconut Chips

Bought this at our local Winners store awhile back, and tried it for the first time today. It was different, but in a good way!! The spiciness of the sriracha flavour and the mild sweetness of the coconut chips, blend together well, for a unique taste profile. Will definitely buy these again, as my hubby and I loved them!! If you like both flavours, I would give it a try. Could be your next healthier snack option.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

At least to all my fellow Canuck’s out there…hope you’re in the middle of, enjoying great food and company, or you did last night πŸ™‚

My hubby, son and I had a low key Thanksgiving dinner at home last night. This year we decided to forgo an entire turkey and went for cooking a deconstructed one. It was super simple and only took 1hr 20mins to cook. We made our usual stuffing recipe and placed it on the bottom. Placed the turkey pieces on top and popped it into a 350 degree oven. After the allotted time had passed, we checked to make sure the temp of each piece was 160 degrees, before tenting to rest. We also made roasted brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes for sides, with pumpkin pie for dessert…yum!! Spatchcocking is also a way to cook a turkey or even chicken quickly. We may try that method next year.

Starbucks Double Shot Espresso Over Ice

Tried this earlier in the summer, and it’s been our go-to ever since. My hubby and I love the strong flavour, especially with cream. We drink ours with no syrups, but you can put any flavour you like in it. If you’re into espresso, I highly recommend this drink.

President’s Choice Greek Coconut Yogurt with Milk Chocolate ChipsΒ

Omnomnom!! We bought this on sale this past week, to give it a try and WOW!! I love the combo of coconut and milk chocolate. One of the combos just made for each other. Of course it’s expensive for 4 cups, but can be made cheaper, by buying coconut Greek yogurt and chocolate chips. We already bought a container of Liberte Mediterranee’s coconut Greek yogurt, and just need to grab some mini chocolate chips. This is our new guilty pleasure!! If you like this combo yourself, give it a try…
