HOLY Wasabi Batman!!

We had bought this at the Lindt Outlet Store, as the idea of it sounded yummy. BOY were we WRONG. Wasabi does NOT go with chocolate at all, and we like wasabi, so this was truly surprising to us. If you’re a wasabi lover, I’d say try it? But, if you’re not, keep away…it’s a waste of money. We’ll just stick to having wasabi with nummy sushi instead…

Valentine’s Day Morning Breakfast

I thought I would make my hubby breakfast, while he snoozed, after working this morning. I wanted to make him something I hadn’t made before, and when I came across this breakfast quesadilla recipe, I knew I wanted to try it out. It was super simple to make, and turned out all right. Definitely going to make this again, but next time will add veggies to it, like mushrooms and onions and peppers.

Krispy Kreme’s Valentine’s Donuts!!

I believe the 2 heart shaped filled donuts, were here last year, but the ‘X’ and ‘O’ are new 🙂 The 2 hearts were filled with cream, and were good, not outrageously sweet. Unfortunately for us, the ‘X’ and ‘O’ were much sweeter. Will pass on those, if they bring them back next year. If you’re a Krispy Kreme fan, and want to try one of these, make your way over to a local store before Valentine’s Day comes and goes!!

Cookie Dough Protein Bites

These look yummy…and healthy to boot!! I, personally won’t add the protein powder, because I’m not into that. Can’t wait to make them…

Bon Appetit Everyone!! 🙂

I used to love raw cookie dough…licking the bowl, the spoon and even eating the cookies before they went into the oven! I don’t know many people who don’t like it, as a matter of fact. Usually cookie dough is loaded with sugar, white flour, butter and eggs. It is definitely not something healthy to be snacking on. That is why I decided to make a clean, healthy, protein-packed recipe to snack on and I think I’ve come up with a winner.

Beer…Dip…Dessert…The Best Parts of Super Bowl 2014!!

As you all know by now, the Super Bowl, was a pretty one sided and boring game…at least to me and my hubby!! But thankfully, we had some good beer and food, to make up for it. We came across this English beer called Innis & Gunn Oak Aged Beer. The description of the flavour is what caught my eye, with notes of toffee and vanilla. It was darker then regular, but not as dark as others, so it’s a good in between flavour profile. We liked it, and will have this again sometime 🙂

I gave another Buffalo Chicken Dip a try this year, for the Super Bowl, and it turned out better then the last one. It may have been that I subbed flaked turkey, and ranch dressing, instead of blue cheese? Yes it was still pretty salty, but the flavour was just better. I halved the recipe, and it made enough for 2 medium ramekins, so we have another serving we can heat up and enjoy. Goes great with cut veggies, crackers or chips of your choice.

I had 2 Mutsu/Crispin apples, that were very much past their prime, since we picked them back in October LOL So, I looked up some recipes of what to make with them, and when I came across this simple apple crisp recipe – I knew I wanted to make it. The 2 apples made exactly 1 serving for each of us, so we ended up having it as our dessert on Sunday night. It was very yummy!! Though a bit sweet, since this recipe is more geared towards, a more tart apple. Ours were quite sweet, so if I use granny smith’s next time, it’ll be perfect. Definitely serve this with a half scoop of ice cream…it’s the only way we eat it!!
