My hubby and I are at the Downsview Park Merchants Market today. They have a food court, so we decided to have lunch. It’s a smorgasbord of international cuisine, but we finally decided on some jerk chicken at Melo’s Kitchen…omnomnom!!

Unfortunately, it was just OK. Wasn’t as spicy as we like it, which is too bad, but I guess she doesn’t want to lose business over that. The owner is a very friendly lady, and I would come back and try her curried chicken roti, just because I liked her personality!!

One of our favourite meals out!! We had a hankering for Pho, and a fresh shrimp/rice noodle roll tonight…omnomnom!!

Not sure I’m up for peeling 12 fresh peaches, but if the mood strikes me, I’ll have to try this recipe!! Only, I’ll make it with less sugar, as the blogger for Chatelaine suggested.

Felt like having something different tonight, and poutine came to mind, of course π Nothing like the combination of potatoes, cheese curds and gravy, to get you salivating…omnomnom!!

Ha!! So angry…yet so cute π

Man, I love this stew. It’s super simple to make,Β really good for you, and always tastes great!! Made it on Tuesday, and ate it yesterday for dinner. Have a few more servings left for hubby and I to enjoy over the weekend ahead…omnomnom!!

Have any of you, come up with a weird food concoction, off the top of your head? Yesterday I didn’t know what to eat for lunch. I did know I didn’t want to have a sandwich though. So, I opened up my pantry, and after staring at it for a while, came up with a corn and chicken salad. I took a can of no salt added corn niblets, then added 2 slices of deli roasted chicken meat. I also added a chopped pickle, a tablespoon of miracle whip and Frank’s hot sauce. Now, I know it probably looks and sounds gross, but it wasn’t half bad LOLΒ I’ll definitely make it again π Though next time, I’ll added more spices, to jazz it up some!!

On Canada Day, we met up with friends at the Ribfest, and my GOD was it ever hot!! But, we donned our hats, and took to the lines!! We had gone earlier then usual, so the lines weren’t too bad, though it got crowded pretty quickly.

We started at the Bibb’s BBQ stand first, and to me, it was the best. To me, sauce is important when it comes to ribs, and they had the best sauce. It was the perfect combination of sweet, tang and spice. The ribs themselves had a nice charr on them, yet fell off the bone, and I could’ve eaten WAY moreΒ LOL

We also tried ribs from Bad Wolf Kansas City BBQ, and they were pretty good as well. They weren’t as charred, but still fell off the bone…what more can a gal ask for right?! π

We ended with a pulled pork sandwich from Sticky Fingers BBQ & Company, which was really good as well!! The sauce complimented the pulled pork nicely, and it almost melted it my mouth – just how I like it π
If you love ribs and being outdoors, even though it was sweltering hot, then you should check out the Ribfest next year. You can check out the Ribfest in Mississauga, as that’s coming up,Β later in July as well.
This is a recipe I’ve made before many times. And since I don’t feel like cooking, in this heat, I’ve enlisted the help my my trusty Crockpot, yet again!!
